Abstract
This essay examines the connection between Eastern and Western art from Symbolism to the last artistic researches and analyses Indian, Chinese and Japanese art from the Eighties until now. It focuses on the works by the Anglo-Indian artist Anish Kapoor, the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei and the Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, showing the contribution of the Eastern aesthetics to the Western one and back again.
